Welcome to Blaxicana Couture

“I TELL STORIES ON DENIM.”

THE HOUSE OF ROSES
Welcome to a world where wearable art is treated with the reverence of fine sculpture, music, and couture.
Each year, the House selects a muse—a living embodiment of spirit, culture, and narrative.
This muse is chosen for what they symbolise: identity, evolution, movement, courage,
alchemy, cultural power, and artistic truth.

2026 marks The Year of the Rose —
a cultural era shaped by the House’s chosen muse.

The muse within the House of Roses is expressed in three sacred forms:

Vault Edition
Preserved in the House archives — exhibited, collected, and consigned for gallery and auction presentation.

Muse Edition
Created for and gifted to the muse — worn to build provenance, cultural resonance, and legacy.

Collector Studio Edition
Awarded to private collectors — accompanied by provenance documents, numbered museum labelling,
and a certificate of authenticity.
This is canon, artifact, and cultural storytelling you live inside of.

Artist Statement
Alece Plasencia | Blaxicana Couture

Alece Plasencia is wearable-art artist based in Los Angeles.
Her work transforms denim into sculptural, one-of-one collector pieces that blend fine art, fashion,
storytelling, and performance. Each jacket is hand-made, layered with roses, textures, and her
signature lining of Chinese brocade.
As an educator and artist, Alece creates through the lens
of culture, heritage, family and legacy. Blaxicana Couture is a direct representation of the artist and her
family as her daughter, Choice — who is African-American and Mexican,
born to her Black mother (Alece) and a Mexican immigrant father (Saul), as her muse and inspiration,
including the logo, a signature red rose.
Having been born and raised in San Francisco, California, her love for design, fashion, music, and art was
first shaped by the energy of the city, as well as her world travels.
For many years, she worked as an educator — but her calling as an artist never left, and eventually she
returned to her true passion and created Blaxicana Couture in September of 2018.

Every jacket she creates is with intention: crafted as a collectible, designed as a sculpture, and meant to be
worn as living art. Blaxicana Couture exists to inspire the next generation of art lovers, fashion
disruptors, and cultural storytellers — reminding the world that wearable art belongs in galleries,
museums, runways, and everyday life.

About the Brand
Blaxicana Couture is a house of one-of-one collector
jackets — handmade in Los Angeles and finished with
my signature silk lining and embroidered insignia. Every detail is intentional. From the cut of the denim to the placement of embellishments, each piece becomes a statement of culture, identity, and artistry.
My work is inspired by the vivid colors of travel, the rhythm of music, and the fusion of art forms that cross cultures. These jackets are meant not just to be worn, but to be experienced — sparking conversation, creating community, and leaving behind a legacy of self-expression.

The Collector's
I have had the honor of creating for music artists, dancers, muralists, actors, and cultural visionaries. Each client becomes part of my extended story, and in return, they carry with them a piece of art that is theirs alone.
Blaxicana Couture pieces are revealed only at exclusive showcases throughout the year, including my signature event every April during Weekend Two of the Coachella Music and Arts Festival in Palm Springs. My work is also exhibited year-round at the prestigious Imago Galleries in Palm Desert, where I am proud to be recognized as a featured artist in wearable art.

An Invitation
Blaxicana Couture is not fast fashion. It is art — created with intention, offered in rarity, and cherished by those who understand that what they wear is a reflection
of who they are.
I invite you to step into this world, by attending one of my private Collectors Room showcases or attending my signature event, Denim in the Desert in Palm Springs in April 2026.

Blaxicana Couture
It is culture, it is legacy,
it is art.
