Artist Statement

Alece Plasencia | Blaxicana Couture

Denim is my canvas—where fashion, music and art converge into wearable art.

​

As an artist, I use luxury denim as my medium, along with my signature Chinese brocade fabric as a lining in all of my collector pieces, which then reimagines and reframes the classic denim jacket.​

Every jacket is a collector item as they are one-of-one.

I create jackets that tell a story and are hand made,  embellished with the intention, drawing from my lived experiences including my world travels.

I embrace sustainability & reject fast-fashion by creating timeless collection pieces.

No piece is ever duplicated, as no story is ever the same. My pieces are created for others to express their individuality and unique personality.​

In addition, you can view my work year-round at the infamous Imago Art Galleries in Palm Desert, California where I'm honored to be a featured artist of wearable art as well as in the  private collections of those who understand that fashion and art are one in the same.

It is my goal as an artist to express the beauty of diversity, music, fashion, art  & culture.
